does a 95 sentra transmission fit on a 96 altima?

hey techs,

my buddys 96 altima is at the shop right now getting his transmission replaced, and the mechanic says that he can put a 95 sentra transmission on me (im assuming thats from the ga16de and onto the ka24de...) Maybe the mechanic means sr20de (200sx)?

now i really dont think this will work but do these motors share trannys?
