Hey guys. I'm glad to make my first post while in the process of patiently waiting for my CA18DET to arrive, so that I actually have something to talk about. The subject pretty much is my entire question. I just wanted to see if someone can confirm that this year ignitor works. I've sort of been able to find that it seems all years work, but just thought I'd check. Great forum by the way, a little thin on posters, but definitely one-of-a-kind.

somebody correct me if I am mistaken but every VH engine I have seen has side-feed injectors, I assume they all do. Your incoming CA has top-feeds, no go. You can pick up FC3S 550cc top-feeds pretty cheap though.

ignitor not injector, right? Just wondering is this a performance upgrade, or is it just a stock replacement issue? If its a stock replacement deal you might be able to find part #'s and compare them.

That's right, I did say IGNITOR CHIP not injector. So if the '91 Q45 ignitor chips don't work, what is the year that they do work? And does anyone have any spares for a decent price?

if you mean the ignitor box itself, VHs have two, one for each bank that look very similar to the CA18, it could work.

Exactly. I know the later Q45 ignitor boxes work, but I found some from a '91 for pretty cheap, which is why I'm wondering. And if they did that would mean I would be able sell the spare to someone who needs it, which would be cool.
