Anyone see that the new Dodge Journey is advertising "best in class" fuel economy at 19/25? I am not sure why the Rogue would not qualify as being in the Cross/Utility vehicle segment for Ward's. Maybe because the Rogue has the CVT???

Thoughts, anyone...

False advertisement, their marketing people are sheer idiots. They don't do enough research before making a claim, any same class from Toyota/Honda/Nissan can easily out rank their Journey.

Time to email Geico's Cavemen so they won't get so pissed off at Geico's Marketing Directors. LOL.

Seriously, I've driven Dodge vehicles for 6 years (4 trucks/1 durango) and their FOS on mpg! A study was done (?news article?) and 7 out of 9 vehicles in dodge's line up got half the posted gas mileage. I think it is comical that the company with the worse gas mileage is offering a gas card now. They just don't get it! Can someone say bail out!

Yeah I don't know how they can get away with that, because I thought the testing was done by a government agency, as the testing criteria was just changed recently in the US.

Hopefully people do lots of research before buying a vehicle like the Journey, and find out that there are good options that actually get as good or even better mileage than stated, such as the Rogue.

I see where the Journey is being reviewed this weekend on PBS's MotorWeek. It will be interesting to see what they have to say. They were very luke warm on the Rogue, but later in the year had to give the rogue the peoples choice for CUVs.

The best in class is not false advertizing, it is just creative writing. A commercial can say almost anything. In this case they say best in class, but fail to tell you exactly what class that is. It is most likely the class of CUVs built by Chrysler. You also will notice that the class isn't being defined by some major reviewing label like Consumer Reports.
