UPDATE: PETA has responded to the new version of the commercial... Press release below:
"If Dodge thinks that using an invisible ape in their commercial is any less heinous than using a great ape, they're sadly mistaken... invisible apes are even MORE rare than great apes, and therefore even more likely to be maltreated by handlers who have no experience with these invisible apes - or invisible animals of ANY species, for that matter.
This maltreatment starts when they are prematurely removed from their invisible mothers and continues when they are trained to invisibly perform through savage beatings (well, we assume they're savage - we can't really SEE the results of said beatings, because the apes are invisible, but DAMMIT they MUST be savage! Then they are discarded at seedy roadside zoos around the age of... well, we don't know at what age, because we can't see any of their aging charactersitics, since they're invisble, but we know it's at SOME age.
In closing, we would like to show you some examples of these poor animals being violated, but.... well, we can't, because they're invisible. You'll have to just take our word for it."
Man I love Jalopink...
