46,000 miles, and i had to replace them. i figured with all the trouble chrysler has been having with the durango's ball joints, that they would replace them under warranty.

but of course they accept no responsibility for the faulty design and wanted $800 for a job i could do in three hours. i got TRW lowers for $50 each, and knocked the job out in three hours. would have been quicker if i wasnt in my driveway. got it aligned, and its all good. if my truck was 2wd, the ball joints bolt in, but i had to pull the a arms and press them out.

that sucks though, ball joints shoudnt be going at 46k. the truck started clunking over bumps, and just didnt feel right.

oh well, at least i didnt get banged by the dealer.

dealer wanted 4 hours time and 175 each for the joints. get the hell out of here.

it took me 3 hours, not including the ride to my old job to press out the old joints, and press in the new ones.

dealers.

the only reason i took it there in the first place was because i read that since dodge has been having all these ball joint failures that they have been replacing them under warranty. after they refused to service the vehicle under warranty i walked out.

My sister bought a durango. Used. By the time she got to my house from the dealer a belt was squealing. A few weeks later, she had to have the entire brakes redone, and with in six months, the ball joints.

She took it to my dads house one day because she was getting a vibration. needless to say the wheel was almost ready to buckle under.

She couldnt call me before she bought a car and tell me that she was looking at a Durango. I would have talked her out of it quick, fast, and in a hurry.

They aint nothing but pieces of crap! I dont think they are capable of making a quality vehicle. The Hemi aint a bad engine, but I wouldn't buy one because it has a dodge wraped around it.

Sorry, you just reminded my how much I hate Dodge's.

LOL. i work at a brake and alignment shop. the dodge independent front end sucks. well actually dodge sucks. heh. don't feel singled out though, chevy truck centerlinks, outer tie rods, balljoints, pitman arms, toyota tacoma rack bushings and pitman arms, ford shocks and balljoints......the all go out around 50k. notice that no manufacturers use zerk fittings anymore. no grease=more failure.

the only reason i got it was for the 5.9 and it only had 37k miles on it.

it was a big mistake. also, the power steering pump's pulley is distorted, and makes the tensioner rattel on acceleration sometimes. dealer wont cover that either. bastards.

this trucks out of here soon.

the TRW joints i got have zerk fittings. i was amazed by the stock crap joints. and the bushings dont have grease fittings either.

ive just always liked the durangos since they came out. dodge suckered me into it.

the average fuel economy is a whopping 9.2 MPG as per the overhead console.

the only good thing about the truck is the power.
