Isnt the new Charger just a 4 door Magnum (or a reskinned 300C)??

I dont think Chrysler makes the Intrepid anymore. They gotta have a car to sell to police forces.

The FHP down here has '00-'02 Camaro Z28's as patrol vehicles.

Well, after some cops riding in Crown Vics around here got immolated in a rear end collision recently, I hear that the police have been clamoring for a non-Ford American built RWD V8 Sedan. Already Dallas PD have switched to Dodge Intrepids, and Plano PD have switched to Chevrolet Impalas.

well ive seen intrepids, impalas, marauders, z28s, altimas, and monte carlo's. There were also a few taurus's and the usual crown vics. By far, the most scary ones to me are the tahoe's and expeditions. I honestly couldnt tell the difference at nite b/w them and normal people...............good thing the radar can

I agree but I guess there is no more downshifting on cops for me....

I think that the z28's are the hardest to see though. the light racks are teenie and u dont know its a cop cause its just white

I dunno....the new Shelby Cobra GT500, that was just unveiled will be something to fear. the Ford GT's 5.4L 32-Valve V-8 boosting to 8.5psi paired to a tremec t-56 6-speed manual transmission with a 3.51 LSD? and with a chassis that is 31% stiffer than the last gen mustang and suspension from the new Grand-Am Mustang race car.....450hp, 450lb-ft of torque...0-60 in 5.0s. all i gotta say is wow....

my town has vics, impalas, grand marquis', monte carlo's, taurus', tahoes, suburbans, and the newest addition Honda CRV's - NO JOKE!!! I wanna get chased down by one of them!!!

Around here only the Mall cops use CRV's. My brother drives a 97 model, and it's a nice vehicle. Of course it's a good bit underpowered using what is essentially an oversized Integra engine.

I saw a cop in Beverly Hills in a Mercedes ML and a bunch in Santa Monica in Jeep Wranglers (I think they are more parking enforcement than anything else). Also I think Santa Monica is starting to change over to Impalas. Every few days I'll see a semi of them being delivered.

The best one ever is Denton PD has a Ford Mustang Cobra. Complete with big pipe exhaust, giant wing spoiler, clear taillights, body kit, sound system, everything. All painted up in police black and white with Denton PD logos.

With writing on the bumper that says: "This car was confiscated in a drug raid".
