Hi there... I am in the process of purchasing my Versa SL hatch. I am hoping to get one 'fully loaded' around the middle of this month. In negotiating with the dealership a $250 document fee is being added that I have never heard of before. Is this just a state fee (Ohio) or can anyone shine some light on this? I am told that it is something that is non-negiotiable.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, does anyone know if there is a website that lists what cars have been shipped to the US? Basically, I would like to find the car that I want and the dealership is telling me the one that I want won't be available for a coupld of more weeks and then they will have to do a dealer trade to get it. I could travel to get the car, but I don't know how to find it without calling a bunch of dealerships around the country. After a dramatic end to my last car, I am need to find one as quick as possible, I would like to buy a Versa and I am not getting much help from my dealership. Thanks again!

You should not have to pay that fee ... only on used cars however if you are financing it there is a fee to register the lien and that should not be more than $50.

It does vary from state to state, but the chart and info at http://www.edmunds.com/advice/....html show that Ohio only has a maximum of $250, but no required fee. You should be able to negotiate some or all of it...
