So its been 2 days... I hardly call that "as soon as possible".

I think it's time you talked to an attorney. The BS has gone on long enough. If we can't get Brady Hutchinson's attention, I'm sure a judge can. You did the right thing. You gave them ample opportunity to make it right and they refused. It's time to REALLY make them famous. Dobbs Honda, welcome to hell. :squint:
Well really I just wish there was an end to it, whether it be that Dobbs Honda says "f*** off" and I keep my money, or Dobbs Honda tries to fix it. Seeing as how I got the majority of my money back (and the car), I COULD take it to someone else and get the job done right.

Although if it comes down to it, and they attempt to get their money back, I have no problem spending much much more money on a lawyer than I would if I just paid them, just so Dobbs Honda in Memphis doesn't get a dime of my money.

Technically, the money I have gotten back is a "conditional credit" from my credit card company. They still have to decide if they rule in my favor and give the money to me permanently. Although I would imagine they will do everything in their power to keep me happy, I have been an EXCELLENT customer with them, and never had a late payment.

I would advise you to seek out an attorney who does consultations for free. At least get some idea of where you stand and what your options are. It never hurts to know what you're up against.

Sorry that Dobbs Honda and Brady Hutchison of Memphis, TN screwed you over.

I suggest contacting your state attorney general. You can get serious results this way and they are paid to protect your from obvious fraud like this as part of your taxes. I had a run in with Sprint many years ago. State Attorney Generals office got it handled and fast. Sprint couldn't refund me my money fast enough plus the appoligies were nice.

did we loose spell check with the new forum? I suck at spelling cause everything has spell check now :gapteeth:

The Spell Check we had before was through FireNico. We are going to find something compatible with the new forum but it is low on the list at the moment.

We're gonna be about 3 hours from Memphis in about 2 months... I think the 100+ NICO members who will be attending the meet in Nashville should take a "cruise" to the dealership to visit Brady-Boy.

You're gonna have to call a s***-ton of tow trucks to tow 100+ Nissans out of your Honda dealership driveways and parking lots.

Make sure the free donuts are stocked up for us.

THAT is a great idea. lets see 100+ cars should be 150+ test drives how long is that going to take?

When you finish your test drives then go walk the sidewalk of the dealership protesting with signs! Make sure you invite the news station.

That would be EPIC, but some how I don't think local enforcement would find it to be justified.

If this happens let me know where to find the local news link.

Looks like we got their attention. Brady just called me and said that he has clearance to send a tow truck down here to get the car. I asked him what his plan for the car was and he basically said "I don't know". I told him I'm not going to be waiting another 3 months, and if I see a $2000 bill when I pick the car up, I am going to literally steal it back. I'm not paying a dime. I repeatedly asked him what his plan for the car was, and he kept saying "I don't know til I look at it"... so you still have no idea what it could be?! There are basically 2 things that you can do from this point, and that is drop the oil pan and see if there is something on the oil pickup, or undo everything your guys did before and inspect/replace the oil pump.
He then said "we need to determine if it was something we did, or if it wasn't".

I laughed. Again, I stated that there was no way I'd be paying for anything, and said "For all I know, that s*** oil you filled my crankcase with is what destroyed the oil pump. NO WAY am I paying".

Now I have to kinda slap the car back together for when this tow truck guy comes. Supposedly he's coming today.

Nice to see. Its to bad that the follow through is going to be piss poor. PPPPP. Learn it, live it, do it right. Brady Hutchinson could only do a worse job if he were blind, deaf, and mute. I mean, its not like he isn't employed to listen to his customers, see his customers, dial their phone numbers, hear their voices, or even LOOK at their concerns in the first place.... right?

On second thought, maybe we should check to see if "conditional blindness, hearing, and speaking" is an excusable customer service follie to the BBB.

I would love to ask Autonation why they would continue to employ someone who seems content with less than mediocrity and blowing off blatant customer service issues, thus fostering a poor record with the BBB for the SAME circumstance, over and over again. I'm certain that they could find a much, MUCH, MUCH more qualified individual for his position in this downturned economy. But then again, I'd be willing to bet that a baby rhinoceros might be able to do his job equally, if not better.

Hmmmm. . . . You better make damn sure you are there when they are checking your car out. I'm guessing Brady's job hinges on what he finds and from what I can tell so far he isn't exactly an honest man.

WAIT,

you had your credit card company hold the payment and now they are coming to pick up your car and can't tell you what they are going to do with it? There is something called a mechanics lein. I would not let them have the car.

I am so glad I ran across this thread. #1, it gave me 1 hour of awesome reading material and some laughs. #2, I am a strong believer in internet justice. Who knows, maybe we'll be one of the top 8 internet justice stories ( http://www.cracked.com/article_17170_8- ... ntism.html ) However that being said, I am hoping for a positive outcome for Mr. Papasmurf, in fact I hope you not only get your car 150% fixed, I hope you get a full refund, if not a little more, for all the time, energy, stress, and troubles you have been made to go through for fixing a car.

If it's not a positive outcome... Well I don't want to tell people what to do, but there are a lot of free websites, that you can sign up with your e-mail, even home address for free things, like the Mormon bible, magazines, even websites you can give your telephone number to, so you can receive additional information about products you want! Yep, those sites are great! But I suppose we should wait to see the outcome of this mess before we get our new bibles and magazines.

Good luck Mr. Papasmurf, keep us informed.

Ahh the information age, what a wonderful thing!

James.

Call the GM. Now. Get assurances on this thing. The mechanics' lein would be a MAJOR concern for me.

The fact that this clown said "we want to see if it's something WE did" leads me to believe he's leaving himself and the dealership an 'out'.

Take pictures of everything, preferably with proof of date (newspaper front page works).

The GM needs to know the conditions surrounding the return of the vehicle, as well as your concerns / fears that the car will somehow be treated poorly (based on your cutomer service experience). He needs to be involved so that there's no shenanigans.

The proper bolts need to be put back where they came from, and the work needs to be performed satisfactorily. Nothing less will be acceptable. You're still in the drivers seat.

Its been what 2-3 months of they could care less about you or your car? They are just trying to get it back in their posession so they can place a mechanics lein on it.

I think you should get your state attorney general involved OR just cut your losses and fix the car yourself.

Dobbs Honda and Brady Hutchison of Memphis, TN is going to rape you again!

they wont put a lein on it... usually the work done has to be more than the car is worth in order to put a lein on it, otherwise they just sell the car. I'll be calling the GM in the morning.

I have to agree with the mechanic's lien thing. I know a group of guys from my hometown who did that and then charged a ridiculous storage rate per day until they received their payment. Eventually driving the bill higher than the value of the car. After so long they were able to file for a title on the vehicle. It was their way of legally stealing a car through loop holes.

Just got a call from the head service manager at Dobbs Honda. Apparently I am no longer going to be dealing with Brady Hutchison at all. All communication henceforth shall be done with the head service manager at Dobbs Honda. He "apologizes for any inconvenience I might have had with them in the past, and he should have gotten involved a long time ago".
-Donnie

Looks like things are starting to get better. Donnie asked me some specific questions and gave me some specific answers... something I never got with Brady. They are pulling the oil pan right now.

Donnie also informed me that the GM is also now very involved... as he should be, this thing is all over the internet.
