New to 300ZX so just wondering if the Z32's have a 12V output or whatever they are called in the inside somewhere?
I've seen a lot of interior pics & haven't seen it anywhere so wondering.

Wanted to know if I can plug in one of these somewhere:

There is a cigarette lighter next to the ashtray in the center console.

yup you bet, although once you plug it in, you might have to twist the charger a bit to make a solid connection, mine is finnicky

You have a picture of where it is exactly?
Never seen the exact location of this on a Z32 before.

1) Let's say you have a iPhone plugged into the charger port using the device linked above in the cigarette plug, does the centre arm rest in the Z32 open up to put the iPhone inside?

2) If you do put the iPhone in the centre arm rest while it's charging from the port can you close the centre arm rest without damaging the cord/wire? So, does it have a small opening for wires to go through it?

3) Also, wondering how much space is inside the centre arm rest if it does open up to hold small stuff in it.

Just noticed you're from Calgary, Alberta.
Use to live there 3.5yrs ago & currently in Cold Lake, AB which is approx 7hrs away from Calgary.

I recently just started getting into cars and am looking for a immaculate condition 300ZX LHD.
If you know anyone that has 1 up for sale or will have 1 up for sale soon then do let me know : )

Maybe if you don't mind, I can run it by you before purchasing it since you seem experienced with these cars & so would know what to look for before purchasing it. I have 0 experience with the word "car" itself let alone a 300ZX.

Thanks!

Pro tip of the day...

USE THE CORRECT TITLE: That means, make sure your title has the topic at hand. Don't title something: "I have a question" or "Small concern" or "Z32 issues". Instead title it: "Tire tpms question" or "Rear bumper paint issue"

I've revised your topic title to reflect the subject matter, which in turn should help generate more responses.

Bonus tip: Here at NICO, we have Factory Service Manuals (FSM) available free to members. Click on the link in my signature and you should be able to find the FSM for your car.

ColdLake? nice, I used to live on CFB Medley when I was little for a couple years. If you find anything this way in Calgary i'll be more than willing to help inspect it for you and make sure it is what they seller claims it to be.

here are some pics, the cigarette lighter/12V is covered by the ashtray lid (that flips/slides to the side).

Thanks!
Those pics really helped out to realize how the setup is for the 12V.

If you don't mind can you answer these 3 questions aswell please?

1) Let's say you have a iPhone plugged into the charger port using the device linked above in the cigarette plug, does the centre arm rest in the Z32 open up to put the iPhone inside?

2) If you do put the iPhone in the centre arm rest while it's charging from the port can you close the centre arm rest without damaging the cord/wire? So, does it have a small opening for wires to go through it?

3) Also, wondering how much space is inside the centre arm rest if it does open up to hold small stuff in it.

Thanks again!

Im not trying to be a d!ck, but if you have 0 experience with cars, perhaps a Z isnt the best first car.... they are finicky and love their maintenance, and most of it costs a bit. and I have found that for quite a lot if it most shops will NOT do as they have no clue about these cars. Just something to think about....

That said, center console opens and a phone fits in there easily,

there is no provision for the wire to extend out of the console. this isn't an issues as the lid is flat on the bottom and is held closed with a magnet so the cable wouldn't be damaged anyway.

Currently in my center console I have 2 full sized 3/8ths ratchets, multiple extensions for them, probably 5 deep-well sockets, a pair of wire cutters, pair of wire crimpers/strippers, two screwdrivers, and a couple rolls of electrical tape. The console is decently sized, although it isn't very deep, it is decently wide and long.

I found that once I plug my phone's charger into the lighter by the ashtray I could no longer close the cover over it. This bugged me to the point that i am going to be installing a USP power port next to my mirror controls between the ashtray and the center console so I can plug my phone into that for charging.

You gotta remember, Cell phones weren't as prevalent when these cars were made. an at the time most cell phones were still huge things, some still had shoulder straps on them! So these cars didn't have the provisions that newer cars do for them.
