How could I tell if the passenger side frame is bent towards the driver's side? I'm going to have to repair this whole front end myself. Dam

I'm just hoping the passenger frame isn't damaged I can fix the front end no problem. I'll be getting the car towed to my house today.

A car that new and no insurance?

Looks like it could be straightened on a jig. Won't be cheap.

I'm guessing it was stolen for a joyride and crashed? Hence, why the Insurance won't cover it?

maybe I'm not looking good enough but I can't see the frame in the pics... that metal bar is a crash bar. that things replaceable... just held in with a few bolts. you can unbolt it and buy a new crash bar.

Yeah it was stolen and they hit a pole. The heavy damage is the corner of the roof on the passenger side and windshield which I need an autobody shop to fix. I can handle the front end, driver's airbag, and trunk.

Call the insurance company back and escalate the claim to a mgr or supervisor. Don't take no for an answer. I had a car stolen from my drive way while it was warming up. After $5k damage I got the car back. Insurance paid to fix the car plus the item stolen from the car (golf clubs). They can't deny the claim just because you made a stupid mistake. Trust me I went through the same painful process.

or if anything tell them the key wasnt in the car but it was left on and they stole it. You can steal these cars if they are left on n they dont have the key just when they turn it off yea its off n no key so it wont start again

Hussain,

The reason that you “can’t see the frame” is that the Altima has no frame as such, it is of a unibody construction. I believe that what people are referring to when they mention the “frame” is the floor pan, rocker panel or other structural steel panels that make up the underbody of the car. Unibody construction is a manufacturing process where sheet metal body parts are combined with stress-bearing elements to form the body and chassis as a single piece, as opposed to attaching body parts to a frame.

Take a look at a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge pick up truck. You can see the separate frame, to which the body and suspension is bolted too. The body can be removed from the frame, which can't be done on the Altima.

http://en.wakopedia.org/wiki/Body-on-frame http://www.carfax.com/car_buying/car_frames.cfx

What is unibody construction?

Easy dan, idk what "other site" you are talking about, but i dont see anything too "wild" here.

Regardless, if someone is lying about insurance fraud, and posting it on public sites across the internet, well then they have to rethink themselves lol...

At AutoX often times people cover their plates... why?Because insurance companies are known to "stop by", maybe they stopped by this thread too!

Certainly how it sounds to me too. Hammond, Indiana aye? Lots of upstanding individuals in that general area. Yet your car is registered in Illinois (is that a *61 7243 license plate I see? - can't make out the first digit cause the plate is bent). Anyway, I hope you're not trying to scam insurance - nobody wins in that situation...

First of all, at least she's ok, second of all, you really shouldn't be driving a car with all side airbags deployed. I would tow it back to Nissan and check everything out.

This thread has moxie!

With frame and engine damage it should only be towed. I'm assuming there is going to be an insurance claim on the car. If so the tow would be covered.

You didn't say what year your car was, but if it is older then $10K in damage is going to come very close to totaling the vehicle.

I don't know who this other person driving your car was, but not remembering anything, and not knowing who hit them sounds a bit fishy to me.__________________Driving is a privilege. . . and I just revoked your privileges. 07 Winterfrost 3.5 SE December 09 NOTM Join Date: Aug 2007Location: New JerseyPosts: 1,653 Dude you are just straight up screwed and the entire story seems fishy. WHY the **** would you report it stolen??? Lying gets you no wheres. You would have to had a police report stating the car was stolen before trying to do that. Maybe you deserve everything that you got just for trying to lie. Enjoy a nicely ruined Altima.

No that's called irresponsible on your part. Insurance companies need proof even with forced entry theft. Why would they allow yours to go through with no police report and no signs of forced entry??? If they allowed every stolen claim to go through that was stolen especially with a key specifically for that car then everyone who didn't want there car would do just that with ease. Just like you wanted to do. Your a tool. Denied!

I also read this in the other forum he posted. He is trying to fraud insurance and his insurance is denying him because the story sound fishy.

Basically don't believe what he say right now since none of this make sense and I do not see why you are trying to post in multiple place because the other forum caught you in your lie. Did you not think we aren't a member of (NC) as well.

oh shut the f*** up. boo f***ing hoo. one post I tell you that the car is stolen then every shoes f***ing sympathy and is against the car insurance, but then when you read something about me being the cause of the accident which isn't true you throw your bulls*** and choose to be on the car insurance side. get the f*** out of here with your emotional asses.

This situation is the same as a health insurance denying to pay for your f***ing hospital bill because you didn't know or you forgot to tell them about a minor health problem you have. Go get a rubber and f*** yourselves. I could care less about this materialistic bulls***. Like I said, a car insurance company shouldn't have the right to deny your claim if you left your f***ing keys in the vehicle. This doesn't grant anyone the right to come take your s***. One of you people or someone you know will come across this same situation because it happens often. Then your going to be looking stupid, mad at the insurance company because they wont' cover your lost. Me though, whatever I could care less. the insurance company will be dropped and I'll take my business elsewhere.

Why would I put the full f***ing "true story" on here when the situation isn't even over with? Face palm yourself b****!
