I'm planing to do my first oil change myself and bought a couple of jugs of QSUD 5W30 oil when they were on sale. Also, I bought Wix oil filters. However, I lost my receipts, but, I'm planning to keep a log of all the oil changes I do. For warranty purposes, if it ever needs be, does Nissan ask for receipts, or just having a log book just fine? I don't have the receipts for the oil that I bought, can I just take a picture or something? Also, I'm planning on using the Wix equivalent of 15208-9E000, which is 57356, it's a little larger oil filter than the 51358 recommended by Wix. The Nissan tech at one of the dealerships in town said that sometimes they do use the 15208-9E000 oil filter on the Rogue's if they don't have the specified 15208-65F0C. I'm guessing that the 57356 should be ok?

I have never kept my receipts, and I have never had issues with warranty work from Nissan.

Having said that, when they ask about scheduled maintenance I explain that I do all of my own maintenance myself, and then I usually segway into the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act. By that time they are just like "yeah, yeah, where's the key's".
