Hey.. i just started my sr for the first time today and it won't hold a steady idle, but when i take out the maf plug it idles high and stalls when you give it gas. I am using a q45 maf that i wired in and i remember reading something about needing to tell the ecu it has a different maf, using the safc (Which i don't have hooked up), to make it work right. Is this the case? if not could the maf be bad?

Isn't that the N60 MAF?Look at the very last numbers/letters on the MAF. See what it is. I'm not sure which one the Q45 has. But if it is the N60, you need 370cc injectors for the ECU to 'auto' calibrate. The 370's match the N60 for the most part. Especially if you have the stock ECU.

Did I just make any sense??

That actually wont work EZ. It only works on a stock ka ECU. Since the SR comes with 370cc injectors, the maf would make the car run super rich. To make that work you would need like.. 450 cc injectors or something, and thats just a ball park guess, heck it might not even work at all on a stock SR ecu.

To the OP, yes, you will need a SAFC to run a q45 maf. You dont need a MAF upgrade till 300+ hp though for a SR i believe. You having that MAF in the car IS the reason your having problems. If you switched to a stock MAF or installed your SAFC and got the settings right you would be golden.
