The Mustang's!!!!!!!

On this day in history, April 17th, 1964, the Ford Mustang was introduced. The 1964 1/2 Mustang had an initial base price of $2368. The pony car quickly became the quickest selling car in history for 1st. year sales. Over 400,000 Mustangs were sold. By the end of the second year, close to a million Mustangs had been sold.Engine options ranged from a 101 HP 6 cyl to a 360HP racing engine in the Shelby.

The mustang remains one of the longest running cars in motoring history. Please take a moment and face Detroit and bow. I bowed eight times, once for every Mustang I’ve owned, and 3 extra for the 3 that SVT has owned.

telcoman, You need not bow, (even if you could)...

Happy Birthday Mustang

I'm going to celebrate by racing and beating the 1st Mustang that lines up next to me at a light (unless it is a 2008 Bullitt)

60's mustangs make me want to change my boxers. So sexy. I saw a fresh convertible last week and almost got in a wreck it was so pretty.

66-69 are sweet

I met a guy when i lived in san diego who had a 66, awesome paint job, with a 9 L custom V8 that he put in it. He called his gas his "loud pedal"

Did 0-60 in under 3 sec!!!

Here's telcoman's dream ride.

I'm making a big pot of spaghetti tonight, with toasted garlic bread and Parmesan cheese - and mushrooms. An old family recipe. Nothing is too good for the Mustang's birthday.

No dude, the Mustang owners outnumber the G owners now. You're just going to have to buy a second car to be really cool...

OH, and 4/20/08 is the big FABULOUS FORDS FOREVER bash at Knotts Berry Farm. It's a really big show and well worth attending. I'm going to put telcoman's name on all the mailing lists they have there, and get him a 1958 FORD hat.

There could be at least a little appreciation for Ford in this thread from all the haters. If it weren't for good ole Henry, who's to say we would have our Gs today...not saying they would never have come to existence, but maybe later down the road?

You know that when I was in high school all I wanted was to build a 1932 Ford Roadster with a chevy V8. I spent too much time drawing them instead of taking notes, listening, and not paying attention. I was young and stupid. After saving for over five years delivering newspapers to purchase my first car, the experience of that 58 $uckin Ford which my father advised me not to buy, not only turned me off Fords but later I was turned off of all American crappy cars after purchasing my first VW while stationed in Germany and experiencing the superior service that I received from the VW dealership there.

Although it would be interesting to still build that roadster I have neither the garage space required or the inclination to spend the $30k + it would take to do it.

But thanks for the offer

VW makes the worst cars. WAY worst then fords. I'm yet to see a jetta(i think jetta is german for dodge neon) on it's original transmission at 80k miles. Same with passats. And these are unmodified vehicles. Mostly driven by women. Everyone that i know that owns a VW hates them. They are in the shop way more then they are on the road. All VWs are is porly designed german cars assembled in mexico.

very true, they were good once, but not anymore. Didn't realize the issue til I was at the local VW dealer and was looking at the sticker & saw where the Jetta's were made.I do have a Mexican strat that's
