Gotta tow my car up a few hundred miles this weekend using one of those U-Haul trailers and they said some cars have to have the driveshaft disconnected, do I have to disconnect mine or just leave it in neutral? 89 240sx fastback 5spd, base model

just leave it in neutral since it's a manual. Tow the rear wheels too.

Was just wondering because the guy at uhaul said some manual cars have to have the driveshaft d/c'd.

red240ne, what do you mean tow the rear wheels? As in rear wheels on the trailer?

yes. It's rear wheel drive. you don't want to have the drive wheels on the pavement rolling in neutral. Roll on the front wheels because the roll with bearings.

When i towed my 240 they U haul guy said to just tow it with the front wheels on the ground and the rear wheels on the trailer, car was fine and plus this way your odometer won't roll while your towing it.

At last my very first post! As far as I know, if u dont have lsd, it'sok to just put it in neutral, if u gonna tow at front only. W/ lsd, I tow it at the rear & locked the ignition key w/ wheel straight.

I towed mine on a U-Haul trailer from Orlando FL to Piscataway NJ with the rear wheels on the trailer and the drive shaft connected. The car was fine.
