I have read articles about an overheating problem associated with the SR swap. Before I start taking apart what I put together, I decided to try something. I am using my OEM 240 radiator with SR fan schroud and fan clutch with 240 fan. On 240 models 1989-1993, the front bumper between the headlights has two, what is made to look like an elongated openings, (I'm not going to keep the stock front bumper it's going to be replaced by an aftermarket) anyway I cut these two small opening out to allow more fresh air in to see if maybe my FMIC was blocking to much air. Drove car twenty miles at about 75-80 mph, temp gauge never got to third hash mark, it's now running where the KA use to run. Now when I go to an after market front bumper I know I will have to allow for more air for cooling the engine. Some may say this will effect airflow for the FMIC, but if I can't control engine temp, then I don't need an innercooler. Anyone else have any input on this, I would like to hear if this creates a problem.

I know that the hoses don't align properly with a KA radiator, but they do make some that will stretch. However, I don't know if the KA radiator is up to standard for cooling purposes for the SR, you might try getting some dual fans with a shroud. They have them in junkyards, from various vehicles.

I purchased my Sr with an after market kit from Heavy Throttle, hoses and all, just drop it in and crank it up

So you have a stock SR radiator....Different from OEM 240 radiator.

Try some water wetter, and either get an aluminum or copper radiator...put twin fans, and there ya go.

you guys HAVE to get a radiator diverter. i think it's the cheapest and best way to cool down your engine. i bought mine off phase 2 for 80 bucks and it made a DRAMATIC difference. before my car's temp would stay around the middle of the gauge. now it barely goes over one notch - it usually stays at Cold.
