Hi there, that ticking noise does not sound normal; just to be clear, are you thinking the noise is coming from the gauge itself as your thread topic implies? It's very difficult to tell from the video clip where the sound might be coming from. Have you listened for the noise from outside of the vehicle?

Pull the fuse for the cluster and then rev the engine. See what happens.

I brought my rogue to the dealer. They tested it and compared it with the other rogues. Nearly every used rogue has the same noise. Some are even louder. Then they got the conclusion that the noise is coming from the gauges. Unless nissan recall the gauges, they won't repair it. :frown:

I've been lurking on these forums for a year now, ever since I purchased my 2011 Rogue SV 15 months ago. I decided to register for an account in order to chime in on this topic.

I have the EXACT same noise on my Rogue, and it seems to be coming from the RPM gauge. It seems to be the most noticeable at around 1500 RPM. I hear it all the time, even when the sound system is on at a low volume. I might be delusional, but it seems to be louder a colder temperatures.

I still need to take my Rogue to the dealer for NHTSA Recall 11V-565 (electronic power steering unit), so maybe I'll ask what their thoughts are regarding this ticking/clicking sound.

This is a strange issue, my 2008 SL FWD has no such noise and I can't imagine any vehicle experiencing this as a "normal" as-designed noise. Please report back after you've had your vehicle looked at by your dealer. This looks to be a problem only with later model Rogue's and it's obviously something that should be corrected.

I just now tested the issue a few secs. Ago.
The issue is the end of the needle is scraping the cluster When it touches 1000 rpm.
Seems like Nissan rushed the cluster design.

My 2010 started squeaking around the gauges also. It would squeak while diving on any road surface that wasn't mirror smooth. Finally I shoved a tube sock around them and wedged it in the cracks. That finally shut it up. :woot:
