A lot of 240sx's have all the seats replaced and i was just wondering how you guys would replace the back seats and put leather ones in. Is there a step by step guide on how to do it urself? Because i tried to search it as back seat replacement but nothing came up. So i was just wondering.

Here is a pic of another 240sx with all black leather seats which i think look really nice:

A step by step guide or a link to a step by step guide would be helpfull! I will post more on what my 240sx looks like when i get more done on it. This week i will be putting in a digital speedometer, getting metallic green paintjob, and new tail-lights.

Simplest / cheapest way would be to pull out the factory seats, have them reupholstered, and reinstall.

I'd shop for some nice S14 leather seats, then have your rear seats reupholstered to match.

Wow, black seats in a 'vert. Prolly should keep the top up when parked on sunny days.

It read clear to me, so not sure what was hard to understand. You have 2 directions to go in for front seats really. Replace them with other factory Nissan seats that will bolt in basically the same. IE: s14, s15 or r32-34 seats(3 of 4 mounting holes of the Skyline seats line up with the 240 mounting points, need to do a slight mod to make all 4 line up) OR aftermarket race style seats(need to get good low seat brackets to work properly..not always easy or cheap to find). For the rears, your only real choice is pop em out and have a shop recover them..in whatever you want them too. Or you could try to mod a set of s14 rears as a couple here have done(not without alot of work to make em fit as they reported)

Does this all make sense and is easy to understand? Also it's good to see another Sammamish resident on the boards, that kinda blew me away. I live off of 228th myself. I have 3 verts and an s14 right now. Hope to see you driving around.

Yeah this makes sense. I am not doing anything with the engine until i get more money. I am going to fastlane autosports and have them just upholster the whole back seat and put a leather seat in. Thanks anyway.

Id reccomend a nice cloth or something other than leather in the sun. for 1 it will get all sun beat from well..... the sun. And 2 if your *** sits in that seat after its been sitting in the sun you will get so scortched and regret getting leather.

OH, and Im not a fan of all leather in a sports car. I have leather with suede cause the suede holds ur *** but if its all leather u slide.

Hello. I had my '94 recovered in Katzkin leather

http://www.primenewswire.com/n...84043

by a northern Virginia upholstery shop. Almost any upholstery shop can do it.

The covers came in and the shop found that the rear seat was not made for a convertible, but for a notch back. They contacted the company and they made and immediately shipped another rear seat.

The point I am trying to make is that the notch back (I'm not talking about the hatch back) rear seat is different than the convertible, enough so that another rear seat set of covers had to be made and shipped.

I'd do the door inserts and rear interior panel inserts at the same time. Everything will match up nice that way.

I also had Katzkin in my old coupe. Ran me about $1200 or so installed. That was in '02 or '03 I believe.

Katzkin does custom lettering, its like $50-$100 more. The seat covers themselves are between $550 and $700 usually, depending on what you want.

Just look at Katzkin.com

That's weird, I know they have that pattern. Just may have to call or email them.

Right on.

The lettering was free. There were a few choices, and I picked the 240SX lettering

The installer charged me $250 extra to do the two door panels, and the two rear panels, and the glove compartment door. (5 * $50 = $250)

The purchase and installation of the leather seat covers was a flat $1,000. Actually, I don't know if there was any Virginia state sales taxes involved.

The five panel vinyl pieces were included in the basic $1,000 charge, and the installer said he could get leather instead of vinyl for $50 more from Katzkin. The installer did not recommend that I go with leather for the five panels, but stay with vinyl.

No extra charge for the two tone pattern. This is 'leather where the body touches' and 100% leather was unreasonably more, considering that the back of the rear sears was empty, and I would just be getting additional leather pieces where the rear passengers would be putting their dirty shoes!!
