in my town for some reason every young kid has a volkswagen either a gti or jetta. They call themselves the vdub crew anyway they always talk **** about my car and hate on my rims or my lights or the fact its a nissan.. And they always say my car is slow, but there cars are barely faster than mine wtf. anyway just wanted to see if ppl deal with this in other places

haha where u at on li anyway........and thats bc everyone with a vw thinks there cars are amazing. My friend has thought every car he has owned is amazing "06 eclipse, 06 cobalt ss and now 08 r32". He now has the r32 and thinks its the s***. But ironically his car isnt that fast, it sounds like s***, and it looks fugly. Rene, I never get any flak from anyone, maybe because im not talking/hanging with teenagers, but even when I was the only AC in the area, going to g35/g37 meets, i commanded respect with my 2.5

Talking trash is something for immature kids, ill bring it up again... At carlisle last year I was hands down the slowest car on the track, infront of hundreds of people... Holding my head high and enjoying myself!

arnt the NEW R32 hells slow? i've beaten one before and the old ones seemed way faster.... it weighs more then our cars and has less power.... only thing it has going for it is AWD so it can do crazy launches......

but ya, i have the same stuff going on.... people always under estimate the car and one guy i know is determined to find someone to beat me.... the other day he text messages me "cobalt SS says he can take you"..... thing is, i didnt even have his new number! he doesnt text or call and say this is my new number or anything, only time he texts is to talk s***! i've already told him that i know my car isnt the fastest, my brothers corvette is way faster and me and my brother have friends with mustangs that will even smoke the corvette...... i even had one girl randomly say "i'm going to beat you some day. thats my goal. if i ever beat you, ill die happy"... we wernt even talking about my car and she was hella serious and not joking. its like WTF?!!!

A buddy of mine went to the same school that hes going to. Nothing but douchebag kids from Harlem/Queens that throw paper at the teachers and talk mad s***.

There's a couple kids in the group I USED to hang out with that always gave me crap for my car, One kid in a Xb that was ready to fall apart because even though there were a ton of great mods, he didn't take care of it at all (offroading in mud with a CAI, pretending he had a manual and redlining every gear, discount gasoline, and the list goes on). They don't mean anything by it, mostly just fun and games but he swears he can beat me if I race. I have a 2.5 and will refuse to race because it'd be a slaughter. He has a 1.8 Toyota Echo engine I think the Echo actually has a couple ponies on the Xb.

edmunds has their 0-60 at 6.5sec, and motortrend has it at 5.8sec.. Never raced any from a dig, but taken them at least a car length from a roll. I feel like most VW drivers are a bit more modest tho. I'm surprised at how much trash you got spit at you. I wouldn't sweat it, when it comes down to it (IMO) the A/C has so much more sex appeal and girls absolutely love the style

I've never run into haters. Usually, I run into the unbelievably curious! Like today when I briefly played with a late model 350 SS Camaro (probably brought out of the garage for the first time this winter as the weather is unbelievably nice here). It was a busy stretch of road (80 kmh limit, 50 MPH). Neither of us were ever speeding (okay, not much...) but we were 'dancing' a little through fairly heavy, and slow, traffic. I ended up ahead. When all was said and done, he was taking a left at an intersection with a red light. While we were stopped, he did nothing but look at the car, front to rear, rear to front.... I'm quite sure he didn't know what it was! Not that I could have outrun him head-to-head, but my car is quite loud in full-throttle conditions, so he would have heard it and was probably wondering 'WTF'. I just chuckled to myself because it's the response I usually get. The A/C is quite rare here so it's a helluva lot of fun...
