NO DAN, NOOOOOOOOOO........danshaz82 wrote:do you believe in miracles?
They trained for 6 months as a team composed of college athletes as opposed to the Russians who had been playing together in previous olympic games and international events for years together professionally.PoorManQ45 wrote:Here we go again!
There was no miracle. The players trained for years for the event. It is called skill.
That was so NALA like. You need to smack yourself in the head. It looks like your only perspective of Olympic hockey is now, where most teams are now stocked with NHL players. Back then, the US team was made up of college kids. Pure amateurs. The USSR were all professionals, playing for years together. Having those kids beat what was the most dominant hockey team of the era was miraculous.PoorManQ45 wrote:Here we go again!

enlighten us all then. ive been playing/following the game since i could walk. no offense takenf1seb wrote:This is no way near close what happened during the game vs. the Soviet Union. You making this post simply means that you know absolutely nothing about hockey in this day and age and are just following the stupid media who also know nothing about the sport.
Don't get offended. Nothing personal.
No, you are simply stating that they played together for 6 months. That means nothing.Bubba1 wrote:That was so NALA like. You need to smack yourself in the head. the fact that they only played together for 6 months means alot. the soviets played together for 16 years. so they all knew exactly how every other player on the team played. they all knew everyone else's playing style, so they were like clockwork. now the US team had only 6 months of experience playing together. they all came from different playing styles and coaching. it is very difficult to play with a team when you dont know the playing style of your teammates. so the fact that a group of college kids that barely knew each others playing style beat the best hockey team in the world after losing to the 10-1 in a prior game is pretty amazing.PoorManQ45 wrote:

The players themselves had all played for years prior to the event. The quick cohesion was impressive, but not miraculous.
Dude you're way to young to be such a cynic, get some sunshine and fresh air.PoorManQ45 wrote:Here we go again!

And yet most college teams look better then professionals...Mr1der wrote:that game was kinda like LSU playing the Colts or Saints...hell, not even that really.
miller was outstanding. some of the saves he made were unreal. no, it wasnt a miracle. but the US team wasnt supposed to do this well. almost no body, including the fans, thought that they would make it this far, let alone beat canada. so in a way, its like what happened 30 years ago, but on a smaller scale with a lesser significance.G_whizz wrote:The game last night (as with most) came down to one thing....goaltending. Miller was spectacular.
So no...it wasn't a miracle.

While I'm sure you like to fancy yourself a straight-shooting, take-no-prisoners verbal jouster who can't be bothered by matters of "tact", you're really the only one impressed with yourself.PoorManQ45 wrote:Eff tact, tact is for those that are to afraid of being straight forward.
It is entirely possible to be straightforward and still be tactful. It is also entirely possible to just STFU and not post. I do it all the time. You should try it sometime yourself.PoorManQ45 wrote:Eff tact, tact is for those that are to afraid of being straight forward.
What about the "OH SNAP" bear pic?Mr1der wrote:I need to think of a retarded design to put on a white tunic and make an armored dunce cap...
Nala has age to blame for his ignorance. You have no excuse.PoorManQ45 wrote:

Yes, If it was a simple a test of skill, the Soviets would have won easily, they were far more skilled. That US olympic teams win showed the power of desire/willpowerin beating a superior skilled team.PoorManQ45 wrote:So, you are defending the stance that these player's skill had nothing to do with the win and that this was purely a miracle?
