Do wheel bearings have to be pressed in or out???

Hey guys I tend to do the work on my mom's 99 Pathy 4x4 but I havnt changed wheel bearings before on it so I have this question....Do they have to be done with any sort of press?I have read via the SEARCH a few threads and came across a couple guys talking about just repacking the bearingsNew or Repacked? Thanks ahead of time for any of your help

If you don't have a problem, just repack them. It's a messy job. Too badNissan doesn't do what my boat trailer does. There's a zerk on the back ofthe hub. Pop the cap off, hook up the grease gun to the zerk, and startpumping.

You can change out bearings without a press if you are creative. Punches,pipes, and hammers help.

You should be able to get the bearing out using a brass punch and a wood mallot.

thanks guys I'll be doing it next weekendgood timesif the bearing housings look to be in good shape I'll just repack them
