I'm searcihing for an '03 or '04 M45. I am looking for one with black interior with the dark wood grain. I want the heated/coooled seats and NAV. every one I see with NAV has the lighter orangish wood. Was the lighter wood an upgrade with the NAV pack or is it just more people liked the lighter wood when they started adding options.

Hello,The natural maple color was a $300.00 option. This option was independent of the other option packages. However, it does seem you are correct in your assertion that most 03-04's equipped with the tech/luxury packages were also optioned with the natural wood. Good Luck,M.L

I would suggest you get the Smoke birdseye maple trim and buy an aftermarket NAV. The NAV package has not been an endearing componenton theses cars. you can do much better. The premium package is really all you want . It has voice activation if your so inclined

The nav gets me to where I'm going just fine. I wouldn't buy one of these without nav considering how much they cost.

Word. The nav has functioned without fault. It also adds resale value when/if you decide to sell. Now that Zenrin(OEM nav supplier) has an update available, should be fully up to date. Some might prefer touchscreen nav controls, but, it really works well. Truly great to be able to enter a phone number and usually get a location.M.L

I have one. An '03 with smoked maple and NAV. It even has wood trim around the NAV/RADIO/AC control panel and switches - i've not seen many like this...I am wondering if it is aftermarket, but all the wood matches. It also has wood trim around the a/c vents on the dash.

Was trim in this area a standard option?

I know where one is. Im not sure if it has the wood grain you like but it is gray with black leather interior. Its in Miramar, FL about a 25 minute drive for you.

thanks for the advice. I am still in the "research" phase. It looks like I will be looking far and wide for what I want or change my requirements for the wood. I will post up picks when I get one. wish me luck.

Where would one be able to purchase this Nav update?

For Ronez, I tested 3 different m45's before buying mine. One of those was a silver M45 with dark interior, dark wood grain and navigation so I know they exist. The only thing this one didn't have that mine does is the wood shifter (MUCH nicer than the leather knob) and chrome wheels (adds a lot of value to the looks of the car).

In short, yes, they exist but you may have to search for a darker color car to get it.

@ phil, that is an after-market option. It was in one of the cars I tested and it had started peeling off and looked really tacky Make sure you maintain yours else it will just cheapen the interior.
