I just saw these

http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/WWC19/25-1051

Konig Imagine Opal 17x7 Wheel Kit, 70-85 4-Lug Z/ZX

I want to get sticky tires to replace my 03' era S03 Pole Positions, they have life left in tread terms, but 10 years is a hella long time for tires. Anybody know if the offsets are really correct for these rims on a 84'. It seems too good to be true to be able to upgrade to 17" rims, oh the tire choices!!!!!!!!!!! Anybody know anything about these??

You might want to call MSA. They have excellent customer service and if you tell them you are in a Z car club they might even give you a discount. The 70-83 should be a zero offset, the 84-85 n/a should be a +30 but they might simply use spacers on older cars.

Thanks evil, I knew you'd know the answer to this. Last tire rotation my mechanic told me he wouldn't rotate them again, it woudl be so sweet to have new rims (although I'd miss the stock look) and have 17" wheels to mount on. I was thinking 245/45 17, you think that would fit? Lots of selection in that size

that size is .6" taller than the stock tire and abotu 30 rev's per mile different, your speedometer would read a bit slower than you were actually going but shouldn't be off by much, I'm pretty sure they'd fit given the right wheel, keep in mind a 245 width tire should be on an 8" wide wheel.

They don't list the sizes on the website so I will have to call them, I guess if they are only 7 or 7 1/2 I would 225 or 235 although far more tire choices in 245.

Thanks man, your a wealth of Z knowledge.

Or you could use a tire size calculator to check the sizes:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

and for width:

Wider than the stock wheels.

And the lower the offset, the better they'd look on the Z31 as well. +30 would look ridiculous.

AZ-ZBum, hey good to see you. You know offhand what would work best to get rid of the 15" 4 lug wheels on a car lowered by 1" (Eibachs). My old Bridgestones still have some tread but they are 10 years old now and I need to buy my old girl a 29th birthday present :).

Thanks, I think that is more information than I wanted :).....I guess now I will have to figure out. The background looks like Morgan's old Z31 site from a million years ago.
