I read much of the Daniel Stern website that says to use larger wires on the light system because that's where many OEM's cut costs. But how does using these connectors help in any way? Shouldn't the wires going to the battery be the same wire gauge as the wires going to the light bulbs? So by adding this it seems to me (no Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or even close) nothing good or bad will come of it.

Unless you are running HID or something higher wattage than this is useless, and like you said unless the whole system from the relay/fuse is upgraded then this one harness is useless. The one thing you have to look for is these is the wire really 14 gauge, ie measuring the copper diameter not the insulation. This is common with cheap Chinese wire which have really thick insulation much no much copper.

If you remember in physics, a thinner wire or strand will have a lower resistance but will not flow as much current; much like a water pipe or exhaust. There are no advantages to larger wire unless it is required because the current is higher than the rating for that gauge of wire.

You can measure the current if you really want to know if it is too high for the OEM wiring, but I believe that the OEM will be 25% larger than needs to be.

From what I have seen in the OEM wiring harness, they didn't skimp on copper, such as the battery cable is way overkill for this system(It is definitely a 0 or 00 gauge cable). I think the only bad thing to come of this is you losing money on a useless item, much like grounding kits and the MAF sensor extra ground; nissan didnt skimp on this car, maybe toyota and honda, but really this is a safty issue so I dont see this being an issue.

Yes Paul, they are useless pigtails, and would not correct for any undersize wiring in the complete circuit that handles the headlamps. Stern has instructions on how to {simple} measure voltage drop that the bulbs actually see using a multimeter- measure and you will find out if a proper wiring harness upgrade would provide any benefit, also he has a table showing how small voltage drops thru the circuit lead do large decreases in bulb lumen output.....great site if you really take the time to dig into it.

I thought so.... I could see if the guy was selling adapters for headlights then that would be worth the price.

Thanks for the info Carlos.
