Hey Guys,

Just purchased a 2006 M45. I can't seem to find a setting anywhere, but can the M be set to lock the doors automatically when you drive away? I know it's not a big deal locking the doors, but it's not something you may always remember to do and with the kids in the back or when the wife takes the car. I think it's a nice to have safetly feature.

thanksMike

You cannot do this.

BTW, we have discussed this before, and, IMHO, I kinda prefer the manual (non-auto lock) approach. But I can understand why people think it is good.

You can always set the external child-proofing on (means that the rear doors cannot be opened from the inside).

Don't panic Mike. Think of what the fellow on the left seat of a Boeing 747 has to go through before he starts to roll. You just have to take your left hand, left trigger finger and w/it apply a slight pressure to the auto lock feature. And voila!

Thanks for the quick response guys. I'll use the child lock... However I still find it a bummer, as stated it's not a big deal locking the doors... and remembering to do so is again not a big deal... the autolock is just one of those things you get used to, all the cars I've driven of late auto lock... and with my wife driving downtown... it would have been nice.... I find it strange that the M has so many state of the art gadgets (which I love by the way) but a simple thing as auto lock is not there.... Oh well it's back to the early 90's and remembering to do it manually...

Mike I live about 40 minutes away from you and I feel if Infiniti put the auto door lock on it than now I would of looking for a thread how to disable. For me that is annoying but that just me. Anyways if you really want that in your car it cost you $45 and maybe an hour to do it.

Here is the link. They have couple of good modules you might like.

Hope this helps.
