for one they don't work like that, when you see the clear lights like that they are whole new tail light assemblies there are a few samples on EBAY but from what we have heard here on the forum is that they don't fit quite right.....

If you buy those you will be hated by every Versa owner on this forum. Just thought I would let you know. Back to the main topic, most company's sell bulk film. you apply it like normal (soapy water then squeegee out the excess) then just trip off the extra film. I think its easy. ORRRRR if your super lazy you can stop by out sponcer's website and buy pre tinted professionally done OEM lights. IMHO they are really nice!

Well, the tail light units are sealed units. They CAN be unsealed and resealed, but most companies are either not going to bother unsealing/resealing, or aren't going to do it because there's too much liability for the lenses leaking afterwards.

There is a tutorial on the portal page on how to smoke your lenses, if that's what you're looking for.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish, anyway?

I doubt you can unseal the taillights, they are made by Hella as are the headlights, that was why we can't use the oven trick on the headlights either. Hella is anal when it comes to sealing and they use silicone. Same thing with new BMW headlights, PITA to open up. You would have to figure out a way to open them without ruining them like I figured out with the headlights.

CodeRed...you just confused the hell out of me...I think you were talking about window tint for one minute then snapped back into reality and started talking about the tail lights but i'm not sure.

;P

Well damn that sucks I have to buy a whole new light set just because the color red..I don't know.. ever seen that movie "Cube"? Remember Kazam and his red thing?

Probably not..never mind...

Oh and don't worry, I am not going to be buying anything off eBay like that. When it comes to putting something in/on my car that costs over $50, I take it somewhere, or I buy it online where there's an actual guarantee and decent customer service..........

Well I had to fix a brake light in my old chevy once and I got the cover off, my boyfriend (yeah i'm a chick. how many guys you know named Bunny anyways, except the guy from RITM? :p ) cracked the cover on one of his brake lights on his mazda protege and got a cover..so I assumed it was possible to buy just the covers. I mean they came right off and on easily on both our cars...

Ugh.. I don't want the smoked ones.. I want pretty crystally sprakley magic bunny ones

No no no.... I read your post wrong..... Well to be honest i didn't read it at all. What i thought you were referring to was tail light tint. Not window tint. But ya those clears are ugly!

I tried to ask a company that makes the tails to just sell me a cover and they refused. I guess in theory you could purchase the clear ones, dismantle both lights and seal the clear lens over the factory tails... eep, that sounds like a lot of work and risk... but where there's a will...

;oD

I would just custom mold my own clear lense like I am doing with another set of lights.
