Recently, I saw a 2007 M45 for sale. The description simply says Bose System. The ad does not say anything about either having a Tech Package or Advanced Tech Package but from the photos, I can see the front seats have the speakers near the headrest. Does this mean that the car has the Dolby 5.1 system with 14 speakers? And secondly, does this mean the car has all the options of the Tech and Advanced Tech Packages? The ad does say that the car has collision warning system. Thanks for any help provided.

It could be either the Adv. Tech, or the Premium package... So yes, it would have the Dolby 5.1 14 speaker system.

Nightwatch, thanks for the response. I haven't really seen any M45's with the Premium package so I'll guess its the Advanced Tech.

Not necessarily...one year either '06 or '07. You could get the speakers with the entertainment/DVD mobile package.

Yes.

Yes.

When I was shopping for my car and looking at ads for various cars online, I used the pictures of the seats to determine what the car had for options. You could also use pictures of the front of the car to see the little window for the laser cruise control. Thats also an indication of the advanced tech package.

Yes! 14-speaker sound system = Advanced Technology Pkg. which includes DVD player for FRONT (nav) screen.Available on both M45 Luxury & Sport models.

Premium Pkg. = Advanced Tech Pkg + REAR DVD entertainment system. This also includes rear heated and reclining seats, rear-seat climate and radio controls, power rear sunshades.

Well not completely true...

In '06 you had Journey, Tech, & Premium

In '07 you had J, T, Advanced Tech, & P.

In '06, you only go 14 speakers with Tech and if you chose to add the mobile entertainment option.

Same above held true in '07. But 14 came standard with Adv T & Pre.

So there is slight chance you could see a Tech with mobile entertainment option added. Easiest way to tell is if it has the cruise control with the distance sensor option (which it sounds like it does). If so, then thats at least Adv tech. Aren't very many around with Tech + mobile entertainment.

I am currently shopping for an 06 Sport and I am trying to figure out which packages a car might have. To be sure, if the car has the 14 speaker setup and the intelligent cruise control, it has the tech package (06 has no advance tech?). If it has rear DVD, it MIGHT have premium and maybe not. Other than the rear DVD, how can you tell from the pictures if it has premium and not just the DVD? Should I be able to see a difference in the rear seats with the recline option?
