do js need valve lash done??? i had one other import(sort of!!!) car a 92 taurus sho with the yamaha engine3.0l 24v dual ohc(blew her up LOL!!!)and it had the same noise i am hearing now(clicky noise coming around valve covers) in my j and it was valve lash so i bought the shim kit!!! and poof it was gone!!! so do the js need the same thing done at a certain mileage??? as i did not get a manual with my car!!!any help is appriciated thanks kevin

The VGs have HLA so they shouldnt need valve jobs done.

Are you hearing the fuel injectors clacking? or dirty gummed up HLA use BG Quick Clean for Engines.

BG Quick clean isn't available up here due to environmental/clean air regulations. Go to Canadian Tire and use on of their bottles of Total Fuel Injector/System Cleaner. Its sold in tall silver bottle with red striping. Its around $12 (Canadian)/bottle. Follow the instructions.

For clacking hydraulics and lifters use CT's "Tune-up in a Can" or "Engine Restorer".

Q45Tech , I have a injector leaking down after shut off,Would BG quickclean help with that ?

I did a round of Techron 2 weeks ago and was wondering if thats what caused it ..

dont confuse BG 44k and quick clean! Quick clean is added to the crankcase!

Yoda, if you have an injector leaking down you must have a bad O ring somewhere.

Hmm ,, I thought maybe the injector valve wasnt seating .. just an O ring would be a LOT cheaper.

Anychance the tecron hosed the Orings up if thats the problem ?did the 1 bottle with 12 gallons routine just a few weeks ago.

The injectors get noisey after 60,000 miles doesn't hurt anything..........Techron is a detergent in a gasoline like carrier and doesn't affect o-rings

So if the engine purrs like a cat when running , and a cylinder / cylinders flood after shut off , its probably an Oring issue ..Just trying to not buy an injector if I dont need too .Tight times here ..
