Some of the technology has changed in the last 15 years, but when I was younger, we tried to tint the windows in my buddy's Duster... FAILED. It is not something I would ever try again. You may have much better luck than I did though.

too many chances for mistakes IMO. if you're good with vinyl it might be ok. i'd just recommend spendin the $ and get it done professionally.

I've done on 3 cars my old car,new car and my dad's car, Its very easy after you did a couple of windows so when you buy the kit buy a couple of them (still cheaper than getting it done from the shop) and also buy the tools for tinting don't buy the expensive one just the basic one all you need is the squeegee and the triangle squeegee ad here is a picture of my car but now my front is 20% in the pic its 50%,and also the back big window is very hard to do i got it done from a local shop and cost me $245

I've seen some pretty crappy DIY jobs...I dunno I'd leave it to the professionals to do.

I have done a number of DIY tints, depending on how slow you go it can come out looking perfect. The more windows you do the easier it becomes, usually a full day to do a top notch job on an average car. When I was doing them regularly I had it down to 3-4 hours per car. I know the professional gents can do it much faster. A few thngs: remove the door panels so you can get to the bottom of the window, or at least below the weatherstripping; be prepared to redo a window or two, if you are easily frustrated, not a job for you; you want to have a super clean work area - anytime you pull the protective tape off the window film, any small spec of lint, dust, etc will cause the tint to bubble or cut through; be very liberal with the soap/water solution; dont roll your windows down for a few days after; use SHARP razors and change often; squeegie the tint over and over and over to reduce the potential for bubbles later on.

so around here it runs about 150.00 to tint a car, more as you move up in tint quality. As a first timer you will use 3 or 4 rolls of tint from your local auto parts store. 2 Rolls will do a car if you are perfect and make no mistakes, one mistake you are at 3 rolls, a mistake with the back window (hardest one) you are at 4+ rolls. Each roll is about 15.00. You dont really need the install Kit, use a credit card and a small sprayer with dish soap / water. So by the time you are done... $60.00 later and a full day spent, is it worth it ?
