The kit is SOLD OUT. Will start making new kits if I have at least 20 people prepaid.

The kit includes:

- 1 install squeegee- 1 spray bottle- 2 Rogue front door sill Avery A9 vinyl custom cut pieces- 2 Rogue rear door sill Avery A9 vinyl custom cut pieces

I was considering including some application fluid, however I am having a hard time getting it. All you need is a small amount of baby shampoo mixed in the spray bottle with water. Or you can visit your local auto parts store and purchase a 2oz bottle of "Tint On" which will do the same thing.

If you are interested in this kit, please email [email protected] with "Vinyl Kit" in the subject. At this time, I have a limited number of kits available. I will make more if needed.

No returns. Sold as is. Not responsible for misuse or any damage.

I am definitely interested. I have a couple of questions though...

Will this solution only prevent further scratching? Will it prevent rusting? If not, is there something that can be applied first to inhibit rusting?

Also, what should be used to properly clean the surface before application?

Before applying you should clean with 70% Isopropyl Rubbing alcohol. Mix 25% Alcohol to 75% water. Spray on wipe off. Repeat 2 or 3 times.

This weekend I'll be applying a simular film (3M) the to the hood, full bumper, fenders, mirors, and door handle cups.

This will prevent further scratching. As far as rusting, if the rust has not already started, I would assume it might help prevent that as well because air would have a hard time getting underneath the vinyl. If the rust has already started, there are some products out there that can help, but I'm not sure how they would work.

As mentioned, you can use an alcohol based solution to clean the surface, although any normal dish washing soap should work. The alcohol mixture would probably work best if there is any type of grease/tar or hard buildup of any kind.

what about that edge on the vinyl with the holes? Do we have to cut that part out?

No, the vinyl piece you will be applying is already computer cut in the shape needed to install (long skinny oval like the sketch attached below). Everything else is just backing paper. All you need to do is peel the piece off and it is ready to be installed.

Glad to hear!

Spread the word. I got banned over on NissanRogueSUV.com because apparently I was not an "approved advertiser".

My wife has a Rogue and I developed a solution to stop the scratching. It's not like I'm trying to make a million dollars, it barely covers my costs.

Got mine from jmbones a few weeks ago. Fast shipping and it works great!Just a tip for others based on my experience: Start with the back panel on one side of the Rogue then do the front. I found it was much easier to position the front panel once the back one was already in place.

I only have a few of these kits left, get yours now for $20 shipped in the US. Once they're gone, they're gone! (If there is a big enough demand for more kits, I will make more. But it will need to be about 20 people at least.)

Everybody has the black plastic pieces ON the door thresholds (some may have the aluminum ones). This kit is for the side of the threshold in contact with the door (common misunderstanding that I did too in my time).

Look at the sticky thread for more information. The kit jmbones did is the only valuable solution to prevent the scratches and the rust.

It seems to be a nice kit and quite cheap compare to if you want do your own. It is a nice contribution from jmbones to this forum.

BTW, all rogues are concerned, 2008s and 2009s (and probably the 2010s, 2011s,...).

Thanks Jose, your kit will ship shortly.

I no longer have any kits in stock. I will begin to make more kits if I have at least 20 people on a list. Please send an email to [email protected] if you want to be on the list.

Thanks to everyone who bought the kit!

Kits are $20 but I am currently sold out. I need at least 20 people to order the supplies and make more. I will not be taking advanced payments as I do not know how long it will take for 20 people to get on the list.

If you would like to get on the list, send an email to [email protected]

Thanks

If he's sold out you can get like a big roll of the stuff from an auto parts store, such as AutoValue for 15 or 20 bucks, and that'll do allow you to do many door sills if you want. Then you just use scissors to cut it to size, the dimensions are provided above in this thread, but it's not an exact science so no sweat. And then just 2 bucks for a simple plastic squeegy and a squirt bottle if you don't already have one and you're good to go.

jmbones, I'm not trying to sabatage you, just trying to offer an alternative if you're sold out. I think it's great that you put the kits together for people, because I know you don't make money off it but rather do it as a nice favor for people. But if you're so inclined, this can be done very easily on your own.

I am sold out at this time. As mentioned above, they are fairly simple to make yourself. Just get some clear vinyl and cut out the pattern you need with scissors. Install with a spray bottle and squeegee you can get at most auto stores in the window tint section. They also sell "Tint-On" fluid that helps with the install, but just about any type of baby shampoo will work.
