I just had the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and both rear O2 sensors replaced after they all set codes( car has 180K mi.) . My mechanic says I now need to take my car to the dealer to have the computer flashed to clean up the registry where old codes reside. For that reason, he left the MIL on, but it went off after two days. Sooo, the question...Do I really need to have my I30 computer flashed by the dealer?? That is $89 I can sure use elsewhere. Thanks, Kenny

Yeah, I can get the codes read at Autozone, etc., but the MIL light is now off, so was just wondering what i'd gain by taking it to the dealer to get ir flashed. From the above post, that would be nothing!. Thanks

The fact that the MIL turned off means the ECM has accepted the new sensors. The ECM will re-learn automatically based on the parameters provided by the new sensors - actual vs theoretical.
