so im trying my best to get into drifting, and since im getting my taxes back i have a feeling im almost to the point where i can start entering events. but the only problem is, i dont want to leave my team behind. example, i have a friend who wants me to buy a one piece driveshaft (i found them for like $341.00 shipped) and its more that what i'm willing to pay. sure he said he'd give me a hundred bucks for my driveshaft but nearly $250 still might put a decent sized dent in my wallet. i mean $50 more than that and i could have my course classes paid for and have free entry to my next event. so my question is, is a one piece driveshaft really that significant of an upgrade? or should i just help my friend find a stock one at a junkyard?

It's your money and you need to use it how you see fit. The one piece driveshaft will make a pretty decent difference in how much power gets to wheels. If I remember right, it's 1lb of rotational mass is equal to 10lbs of static mass. So a 10lb driveshaft would be like carrying a 100lb person with you. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on the ratio.) Even with this amount, I don't see that playing a huge deal in your ability to drift. There are quite a few people who drift stock KAs and do fine. I'd put the money in the classes if I were you. That seems like more of a worthwhile investment.
