Do I really need this?

Hi all,

I just had my A/C checked and the guy said I need a new compressor, blower, etc. Thing is, the A/C is running right now except the A/C light does not turn on on 1 and 2. No problems when I set it at 3 or 4.

The quote was for $650. Do I really need to spend this money?

Any help appreciated.

The A/C is blowing cold on 3 and 4? Sounds like the compressor is fine. I'd think the controller is bad. I don't usually recommend throwing parts at problems, but in this case I'd look to get a used one off of ebay and swap it in. Not too hard to do.

Edit: Post this up in Nissan Online Mechanic. I bet Nistech will know for sure.

Yeah if the AC is fine on 1 and 2, the compressor is fine. But it's probably the controller, or it could be a blower resistor.

also, find a new a/c guy.
