When I bought my S13, the coolant reserve tank was cracked and i've been looking for a replacement tank ever since.

I really don't want to spend anywhere near $60 on a new tank.

Plus, i've been looking at pics of some people's engine bays and i've noticed that some people don't have a reserve coolant tank, or at least i can't see it.

my question is so I really need a reserve tank at all?

couldn't I just remove it, plug the hole, and fill up the radiator?

im thinking by doing this I also cut out some of the engine bay clutter.

its made for expansion and contraction of the coolant you need somthing there for the coolant to expand into and come back out of as it cools .. dose it have to be that big no you can use a smaller bottle .
