I have a 91 240sx hatch and my winshield wiper motor went our so I took it off. I am about to fiberglass over the hole but I need to know if I need it or not to pass my safety inspection in Missouri. Can someone help me out?

I'm not from Missouri so I couldn' tell you, but I think it's a bad idea to not have a rear wiper . Dust, rain, and snow can really hinder your vision through that rear window.

They might say something if it was there and didn't work, but as long as you take it off it shouldn't be a problem.

When I had my car painted, I took it off and filled the hole. If it doesn't look like anything was ever there, they shouldn't care.

240s came stock without it, too. Should be no issue.

If you had a rear blade and the wiper insert was torn, they could get you for that. If you remove the entire thing than there is no problem.

I inspect cars and work around a dozen other guys that inspect cars. Neither myself nor would anyone I know fail a car for removing the rear wiper arm as you describe.

Keep your third brake light though. We'll get you for that one

I think 1989 didn't have the rear wiper. I have a 90 and removed the whole thing and sealed the hole. You couldn't tell anything was ever there.
