Do i need to balance my wheels?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey i just posted a threat about my new rims. i did purchase them used and the guy said that they were balanced. I am not sure if i can trust him or if he just wanted to make a sale but nonetheless they are on my car now. how od i know if i need to have them balanced? can i ask mechanics to check them for free? i just dont want to spend 80 bucks on balancing if they dont need to be. on my first drive with these wheel there seem to be a little vibration inside the car im not sure if that is an indicator.

If you put the rims on your old tires you will need to have them balanced.

If your rims came with tires already mounted and you have vibration, you'll need to get them balanced.

Are they the same size/profile and offset as the OEM rims and tires? It sounds to me like you might have clearance problems and the tires are rubbing somewhere in the wheel well.

The offset of a wheel is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the true centerline of the rim.
