Do I need this Tempature probe? I do not want to cut up my Samco hoses.

I got my samco Hoses and I would have to cut them up to get them to fit with this temp prob thing. It was located on the lower radiator hoses I have included a pic below that shoes where it was on the OLD hoses.

I need to know what this is used for and if I really need it or not? I was told I can throw a resistor in its place and I should be fine.

My car is waiting for the hoses so I can fill it up and start it if anyone knows please Post soon as you can.

You do not need it, that is mostly for auxillary AC fan and is probably not hooked up to anything for SR installs.

on my SOHC KA, without it the car ran rich, and when i plugged it back in, the car ran fine. it's the coolant temperature sensor.

LOL what a coincidence.... I just noticed I have the same pipe/sensor on my piping going from my radiator and I didn't know what it was for. The wires are cut on mine though. At least now I don't have to wonder what its for anymore.
