I'm decided to swap my KA to SR20DET. Does it need dyno tune if I add these:

FMICDP + CatbackWalbroGT28RSSAFC II

If not, when should I require dyno tuning. (Sorry for such newb question)Thank you.

Well unless your just buying an SAFCII for looks... it needs a tune. When you adjust the SAFCII to reduce the fuel/add more fuel your tuning the car.

Up to what psi can the stock SR20DET internal can take on the GT28RS. I can eliminate the SAFC II and let the ECU do the works. What d'ya think?

dont know too much about the sr ecu but IIRC its like a de ecu so it can handles some changes while in closed loop but once your out of closed loop its going to read stock values, the closed loop will decrease fuel somewhat to compensate for bigger injectors. Just take the safc to a shop and have them tune it out.

With stock internals on a SR you shouldnt boost past 10 PSI, and thats pushing it. On the otherhand, my brother decided to mess around with his boost controler when the boost gauge wasnt hooked up and we ran 4 runs at a dragstrip, and then some at nearly 1.5 BAR once i hooked the boost gauge back up. Ever see a turbo manifold glow in the dark? Its a pretty scary sight, beleive me.

here are a few numbers to keep in mind, at 10psi your smic will be fine, at 12 it'll heat soak. at about 12-14 you'll start maxing out your injectors, with the t28 you'll start maxing out your mafs shortly thereafter at those same boost settings.

If I will keep the stock T25 for now, am I safe up to push 10 psi by just adding the FMIC, DP/Catback and Boost Cotroller without spending to the dyno? Thanks for info guys.
