My name is Joshua Cameron and I have an addiction to cars. A perfect weekend for me is working on the car whether it's just maintenance or installing parts or adjusting stuff. I've been like this ever since I got the car in dec 06, it was the garage door opening everyday at 8AM and working on stuff til midnight on many projects.

I do get out and hang out but not too much mostly hangin out at meets and helping my friends w/ their cars which is fun, but I'm 21 and I feel that I should be going to clubs, parties and hittin up the ladies..it's not that I don't enjoy that stuff but I rather just wanna hold a wrench and drive my car

anyone else a weird-a$$ like me?

I do not feel the same way. I enjoy working on cars, but i also enjoy having interactions with people who don't have the same passion as me with cars. I have no problem spending the whole day working on my car though. Have done it many times.

I'm not saying you don't belong at the club and what not, but i say if you're having fun just doing what you do, then continue man. i wish i had an abundance of cars to work on or people in my neighborhood to talk about cars with.

No, Weirdo, you're not a weirdo. If I had the money and time, I'd work on my car all the time too.

Just avoid huffing air cans or you'll end up on A&E.

Well, if you were compulsively going to clubs for the purpose of getting more sex than you actually need to survive, than that is just as much of a surrogate activity as working on your car, right? It's different, but still just something that takes up time.

You dont have a problem but you do need an end-game. I work on cars a ton, but I always have an end-game in mind; Shaving seconds during track days.

Nah, you're not weird. You're an enthusiast. Welcome to a very large group of fellow enthusiasts. If turning wrenches on your car is something you enjoy, then enjoy it.

My only advice is to keep things in perspective to your life goals.

I have a much more important job in mind for Jesda once I unite the world under a single imperial banner: Ed Whitacre's replacement.
