I'm about to embark on my latest repair job. I need to know what tool I need to replace the Inner Tie-Rod. I'm thinking maybe a pipe wrench, correct me if I'm wrong? And my FSM recommends a "Locking sealant to inner socket threads". So what sealant are you guys using?

Forgot to mention the FSM said to "Stake lock plate at two places". Is this like "Crimping"?

You will need a inner tie rod tool. Locking sealent is loctite thread locker. There is different strength of loctite make sure you use the right one. I have to change mine too.

Thanks Max Powers, I was also thinking about a small Pipe Wrench to hold unto the the inner rack. I figured since it was Lock-tighted together, I would need the pipe wrench and the above tool and crank like heck. Would a heat gun or a butane torch be needed to heat the area?

Just did both inner and outer tie rods on my 92 q45, no need for heat gun, was more simple then I anticipated................remember don't forget the alignment afterwards.
