1992 Q

The plastic cover (the one you take off when you change the oil) is damaged in the corner and hangs down a few inches.

Can I go without it? (Car is in So. Cal.)

Anywhere suggestions on where to get one new or used? Infiniti wants over $200.

Thanks for the advice.

Doug

They are about $150 from Joe.

And yes you need one to manage under car and engine compartment airlfow. Along with functioning foam battens on either side of the radiator.

Look for a post from Q45tech last weak or so that links to a bunch of online articles. In my post, I link to a study of under engine trays and their affects on drag anad cooling.

Have you thought about repairing with fiberglass? I guess it comes to what your time is worth and what the car is worth, and if you like to do repairs.

If it is only slightly damaged, and you have the broken piece it could be repaired. Cosmetics do not matter so much underneath the car.
