i have been trying to get my s13 redtop sr running correctly because its quite rich, and smokes and have been checking things one by one, today i tried to set the timing using the cam position sensor and set it to the best of my ability and i went to crank it over and it doesnt start now, and the ecu code reads an 11, which is for the cam position sensor. does that mean its bad or just not adjusted properly at all. please help, thanks in advance

might want to make sure the harness is pushed in all the way. If not, then you're probably in trouble.

exactly how did you adjust it? Did you pull it out and try to re-alighn the teeth?

If so, its hard to explain, but you have to align it one tooth back from where it LOOKS like it should go.. when you push it in it lines up correctly.

i might try to do it again, but i guess what i want to know is could the code read out from being badly adjusted, or only if its broken?

It will prevent the car from starting if it is adjusted wrong.

Edit: I did mine once and somehow i set it at 180* off.. that was a paniced 15 minutes.
