Hi, im putting an s14 motor and transmission from a clip in my s13. My question is, should i leave the stock clutch in there or get an upgraded stage clutch? Im not doing anything crazy to the motor. I have a FMIC and that will be about the only mod. Is it necessary to upgrade the clutch or will the stock one be fine? I would like to go 12.mid to 12.high in a 1/4. Thanks alot.

Also, if i need one , where shoudl i get it? Thanks.

yeah your going to want to upgrade the clutch, just because anything after market will handle any upgrades better than a stock clutch would.

Don't go to ebay. I got a xtp stage 2 and it slips really bad with 10lbs of boost.

Never heard of falcon racing... but try any of the sites listed below, or any of the sponsored sites to the right. Buy something name brand they are not that expensive and with anything you get what you pay for.

On a side note i have a ACT sprung 6 puck... i like it, but to me it sounds like that would be way to aggressive of a clutch for you.

Just get the clutch, it'll be SOOO much easier to change it while the engines out, than in.

Yea i know thats why i asked now. I would pull the motor/trans out to do it anyway. I hate being under cars.

I'll probably go with that spec stage 1 clutch for 310 ftlbs. Should be enough for what im doing. Thanks alot guys!!

Looks like you already made up your mind.

I really wish I hadn't of used the stock SR clutch, but it had life left in it and at 7psi it was functional. The last couple of times I've driven it it has started to slip (probably from abuse at the track) and now at 13psi it really needs to be replaced.
