The reason I'm asking if I need a boost solenoid for the RB is because I do not have one, and I'm not getting the full polential out of my motor! Shoot, my sr20 was faster than my RB25DET Do you guys know where I can buy one here in the states? Is there a car that has a boost solenoid (here in California) that is compatible with my r33 RB25DET? Maybe some of you out there has one that you want to sell!??

One more question...............I have my waste gate hooked up to the I.C. piping (shown in picture below) is this correct if your not running with a boost solenoid?

Yes. But I believe the way it works normally is the solenoid bleeds off some pressure to the gate actuator at elevated rpms (back to the intake pipe) to raise the boost from a measley 5 psi to 7 psi. The way you have it plumbed up is perfect, but I am almost positive that the stock gate spring is for 5 psi.

In other words, you need a boost controller to increase it.

You dont need it unless you want to step from 5 psi to 7. just buy a manual boost controller and be done. the computer doesnt even know the solenoid is gone, so thats not an issue either.

Marcus,

you do _NOT_ need the solenoid to function. If you _really_ want mine, I will send it to you. Just pay shipping.

Here is my suggestion:just run your motor as you have it for a while, then when you are ready, buy / make a manual boost controller and plumb it right where you have it. Stock is 5-7psi (I know, weak sauce) or get a 20 actuator which is 10 psi.

Sorry I already sold mine, but the guys are right. Just get a manual boost controller for now. If you decide that you need more than 10-12 psi, you'll have to upgrade the turbo and injectors anyways.
