im running 270's with 8.8mm of lift.

you will have to have your head milled out near the cam lobes, or else they will hit.

I would recommend getting the cam gears just to do some experimenting with. Then if you can extract any more hp with them, sell them.

Yes i know my head is already finished.I also have a set of OBX camgears but a have to turn both of themto 5deg advanced just to match up the original camgears. Why???

Do you have any pics on your setup?

You probably won't NEED them to get the car to start and run. But you do need them to adjust them to make optimal power.

Get the cam gears. You'll be much happier with your cams if you do.

Get a degree wheel and degree the cams and gears. I assumed you milled the head and block some which will change the gear timing as the belt is now spanning a shorter distance. Don't worry about the gears being off. As long as the marks are falling consistently on a full degree just make sure you relabel the marks as what they actually are. I would degree the things and get the cams phased straight up, cinch em down and button the engine up. I just don't beleive that messing with the cam phasing 2-3 degrees nets enough gain to warrant the BS to do it properly.
