Okay after asking people where I should connect a boost gauge vacuum line, I discovered something while testing with lines under the hood.

With the boost gauge T'd off at the wastegate vacuum line (wastegate to stock coldpipe nipple), my boost gauge reports zero psi during idle.

With the boost gauge T'd off at the FPR vacuum line, my boost gauge reports "20" marks below VAC.

Do I have a vacuum leak? Shouldn't both configurations give the same reading since the coldpipe is connected to the intake manifold anyways?

By the way, my redtop wobbles and stutters sporadically during idle. It also wants to stall after revving high and letting off gas during idle.

Your idle problem does sound like a vacume leak, i would check all of your fittings and hoses. And t'd of the fpr is the correct place for your boost controller hose.

Hook up your vaccum lines EXACTLY like I outline here.

That is the correct configuration.

you know what, I actually printed out your vacuum guide while checking my vacuum lines. good stuff man. i found it very useful.

Unfortunately, my idle problem is still there =(

Hey question though. Isn't the FPR vacuum nipple and the BOV vacuum nipple really the same thing? Are they supposed to have the same vacuum?

Oh I also forgot to ask BuudWeizErr.

My car had its Boost solenoid removed in the swap. Where does the boost solenoid's vacuum line come from? I wanna check if the hole it came from was plugged up. (I'm getting desperate in finding leaks here...)

The reason you got 0 psi when hooked to the coldpipe is because that is only a pressure source. You have to hook up your boost gauge AFTER the throttle body to read vacuum. The intake is basically at atmospheric pressure until boost kicks in.

And I think in your second question you're asking if the FPR and BOV need to be hooked to the same vacuum source? The answer is yes. Make sure to hook both up to one of the taps after the throttle body. Be careful, the nipple on the actually throttle body itself is pressure only. The vacuum ones are located right behind it and are actually in the intake manifold itself. Hope this helps!!

GraySilvia thanks for clearing that up. It makes perfect sense now.

DUDE! Just follow Sillbeer's instructions. There are three nipples on the throttlebody. One on the bottom and two on the topside. Plug the one on the bottom and use the bigger top nipple for your BOV and the other one for FPR and boost accessories.

The nipple on the cold pipe should be routed to the wastegate actuator, which sounds like that is what you have.

Have you tried adjusting your idle?

Yup, I used silbeer's instructions. Idle problem is still there. And naw, I haven't adjusted with the idle screw if thats wat you mean.
