Do I have a security alarm?

I bought the 2010 SL (base model, without leather/premium package) and I have the simple keyless entry (lock/unlock/panic). Is this a security alarm?

I see a "Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor" available here (http://www.nissanusa.com/rogue/accessories.html) for $69 - does anyone have this? Is this something I could install myself?

I believe like most Rogues, you just have an immobilizer, not a security alarm.

Please read pg 2-19 of your owners manual. It explains the security system features in detail.

The Vehicle Impact Alarm Sensor adds motion/impact sensing capabilities to stock security system. It will alarm if someone smashes the glass, but like all motion/impact systems can also cause a lot of false alarms. ie. Strong vibrations caused by thunderstorms/lightning and loud stereo systems, exhaust etc. from passing vehicles.
