hey guys,

recently my 92 coupe started to overheat. i dont know how long I overheated it but when i looked at the guages it was pegge( the temp gauge). So I pulled over.Got it towed home and began to replace the following: thermostat, water pump, cap, and I flushed the radiator. Now the car still runs hot but does not peg out. I did a compression test, it read 150, 150, 150 and 120. There is no coolant in the oil, no bubles in the radiator, and no steam. Could it still be a head gasket or possibly a radiator.

thanks

,matt

That one cylinder with 120 psi is a suspect; might be a blown head gasket at that point. Pour a table spoon full of oil down the spark plug hole and rerun the compression test on that cylinder. If the compression doesn't come up, then it's most likely a blown gasket.

It's also possible for the radiator to be plugged up.
