I have went through so much in the past 2 weeks w/ my 2000 Maxima. My check Engine light appeared, took and had it put on diagnostics, the fault code showed P04:20...had the oxygen sensors changed thinking the tech. was right in diagnosing it, when the light reappeared, So back to the dealership I went, telling me that I needed new ignition coils, I had them changed. The check Engine light did stay off for 200 hundred miles and came back to haunt me. I have checked online and found a Service bulletin, for this model of car and it states the ECM needs reprogramming, had that done. And so far that has kept the light off, BUT now my car when sitting still (mainly after it has been ran for awhile) idles low then shuts down. Did I mentioned I live in NC so I have to pass complete emissions inspection. Any suggestions Would love to hear before more money is put into. :-)

Are you getting the same code, or a different code? If you have an Autozone near you, they will check your codes for free.

I have had it checked by Autozone twice and the dealership I have had everything fixed for the codes thrown, I have had the O2 sensors changed the only one I haven't is the O2 before the Catalyst but the codes, were for bank 2 after the Catalyst which have already been changed.

Your problem sounds similar to that discribed in these threads.http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=8 ... id=94792In both cases the problem was solved by replacing the Mass Air Flow sensor. It's a very easy do-it-yourself job with basic tools. Hope this helps, and welcome to NICO.
