I'd say Versa and Yaris should provide eons of trouble free motoring.Blade107 wrote:Nice thread regarding some of my own concerns with the Versa I just bought. 1.8S Sedan Auto.
Long term Reliability is the reason I still wonder if I made the right decision buying the Versa instead of the Yaris Sedan. I hope my decision was the right one as I had a 2000 Corolla for since new and barely had any costly/serious probs excecpt for a AC condenser that was replaced under an extended warranty.

Had 01 Sentra w many km [see avatar], and 89 Tercel, both w stick.
No major probs except wearing thru floor under gas pedal![]()
Spent some $ on Sentra on AC, but not on components, just O-rings and freon.
Versa now about 94000km, trouble free!
Yep, our Versa's were made in Mexico ...Blade107 wrote:I assume your Versa is also made in Mexico right? - I'm a bit surprised they make Nissans there. Hopefully quality control is as good as the plants in Japan.
yup, my sentra was made in Mexico too. No concerns at all.I assume your Versa is also made in Mexico right? - I'm a bit surprised they make Nissans there. Hopefully quality control is as good as the plants in Japan.

08V: I am talking with a broker about buying me the used New Beetle I am searching for. He buys cars from the auctions (usually always American vehicles), and the cost is substantially lower. A lot of people have him get them higher end cars (Mercedes, BMW, SUV's, etc.) down there as they are much cheaper.

I'll let you know how it goes with the broker. He's a neighbour/friend of my older brother's so I think it should work out okay.08versailles wrote: yup, my sentra was made in Mexico too. No concerns at all.
Had concerns w my Mexican VWs tho, vs my German ones.
But many with minimal problems, too, so just stay in touch w good mechanic.
Keep us posted how it go with broker from US. NB w 5speed very cheap, even w turbo!
