Where's the "I don't really care but would still like to see Obama release all his school records, thesis, etc. as it goes against his promise of transparency" option?

His mother was a US citizen, he was born in the US. What's the issue or the problem. Just because his father was not American it doesn't mean he isn't. This thread sucks.

Why is it such a big deal, Why won't he just release the Birth Certificate. IDC either way he's there, not like we can fire him until 2012 anyways.

IMHO it makes him look weaker by not producing his Birth Certificate. All he has to do is whip it out show the birthers the damn thing and then tell them to STFU and GTFO. Its rather simple really.

You can make a separate thread for that.

Um actually, I believe he's a citizen.

Apology accepted.

No point as not releasing his BC also goes against his claim of transparency.

Ah.

So, this thread was all a ploy to tell us what you think.

I see what you did there.

/ care.

p.s. -1 for your ninja edit attempting to conceal your inability to draft an accurate poll and your personal attack on those who pointed out your epic failure.

Weaksauce on ice.

Ploy to tell you what I think? I though this was the politics forum?

The point of my poll wasn't to tell people what I think but to see if repubs here would actually answer the questio. I got my answer.

This.....thread sucks.

Everyone needs to drop this subject. Like now. He's the POTUS. What, are we going to kick him out of office retroactively now?

Seriously. This debate has to end. I agree with Matt on the transparancy thing, but honestly, this is just beating a dead horse at this point now.

You've never heard of impeachment? There are campaigns going on to impeach him for not being a citizen.

And the debate DOES have an end.

There has been like 23049823049283 checks on this already. People need to STFU and get a life. We've got more important stuff to worry about, like how Obama is going to destory health care or the war in the Middle East. Seriously.

I'm thinking of impeaching this thread actually. It's redundant, and dumb too. Being both makes it double dumb. DD, like DareDevil. Ban Affleck played DareDevil, and he sucked, like this thread does.

I neither "acted dumb" nor dodged the question. Your poll relied on assumption. Fortunately, it's still up for viewing.

I could give a damn about this particular debate (he's the POTUS and I'm cool with that), but as I said in my other thread, I WILL continue to point out every error and shortcoming of the present administration at every opportunity.

Transparency is relative.

I like to see the Prez being transparent about his ideas and politics. I dont really care about his education or birth certificate. And his thesis? Come on. Wonder what his favorite color was in kindergarten? I'm going go with the officials and conclude Obama is qualified to run for president, be elected prez, and serve as prez. Just like nearly all of us eventually accepted that Bush won FL by 300 votes in his first election.

Its funny that the yes men of the prior administration reserved criticism for 5-6 yrs before finally questioning the former President. Some of these same people criticize Obama for not completing his goals in 5-6 months.

I'm with hannibal here.

I don't care about all that crap. I want to know details when I hear proposals for "change". That's it.

Hey Prez - I'm pretty smart, I can understand big words. Lay it on me. Let's hear it.

Didn't stop the MSM and others from digging up everything they could on Bush and airing it on TV. Hell, they even made stuff up and presented it as fact.

More straw man arguments. Show proof that Bush lied. Show proof that the protesters at the town hall meetings are all paid by the GOP (future straw man argument).

FWIW, I don't think any of the birthers are saying Obama isn't a US Citizen. It's whether he is naturalized or not. That single point makes this whole thread pointless and irrelevant.

I'm trying to draw a distinction btw a president speaking falsely and others speaking falsely about the president. There is a significant difference. People can develop any rumors they want. But a president spouting rumors is a different story.

There are those high up in the military that I've spoken with that are now civilians that say they have seen WMDs in Iraq on intelligence reports. They say it's just a matter of trying to find them. There's a vast dessert out there and governments willing to take them.

Same person also briefed me on the Katrina failures in LA. It wasn't FEMA's or the federal government's fault, it in fact it was the state's fault as they didn't allow the supplies in. The supplies and everything in question sat at the state's borders until they were allowed in. Reason being was that there was hardly any plan put in place, and the one that was there, no one knew how to activate the plan.

Lots of distractions here.

How about if he just does what he promised?

I'll rock a BO sticker on every car in my fleet if he does what he promised the Amurican people he would (or could) do.

Unrealistic?

Yeah. It was unrealistic when the lefties demanded it of GWB, too.

He's trying. Rome wasnt built in a day, the Iraq war wasnt a seven day affair, and health care reform wont happen over night.

Congress wont pass a bill just cause the pres supports it. There are discussions and compromises involved. And there are obviously people who disagree with his goals and want to stand in the way.

We cant just walk out of Iraq. Obama has implemented a plan to leave by th end of 2010 (I believe). Isnt that progress toward his promise? I think its unrealistic to expect promises to be fully realized 7 months into his term.

That's OUR line.

Agreed. I just don't like the "hurry up and approve this or you're unAmerican" nonsense I'm seeing re: bailouts, environmental proposals, and healthcare reform.

And no, I'm not trying to justify bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

See, the bad behavior of the GOP is in the past. Cost them an election. I don't justify it at all. Their errors, however, do not absolve the DNC from scrutiny and accountability, and I will point out the hypocrisy I'm seeing now at every turn.

So, mad's quote doesn't apply. I'm raining accountability on the current administration.

Get an umbrella - or better yet, a helmet.

LOL!

This unAmerican if you dont agree is plain BS. The ability to dissent is what makes our country work. As long as its done in the interest of finding solutions, as compared to criticizing an opposing view. It was stupid when talking about invading Iraq and its stupid when taking all current issues.

Yep.

But, be careful to not take that TOO far. One need not have the capacity for an alternative in order to earn the right to express distaste for a proposal.
